A beautiful garden should be enjoyed, not constantly maintained.

A beautiful garden has a way of making a house feel like home. It's morning coffee surrounded by flowering plants. Fresh herbs picked straight from the garden. Watching the birds visit while you relax on the deck instead of spending your weekend pulling weeds.

The trouble is, gardens never stop growing. Hedges need trimming. Weeds appear overnight. Plants need pruning. Before long, a few small jobs become an entire weekend.

That's where we come in.

Whether you need regular garden maintenance or a one-off tidy-up, we'll keep your garden looking its best so you can spend more time enjoying it and less time maintaining it.

Garden
Clean-Ups

Sometimes you don’t need a whole new garden, you just need to revive the one you have. For gardens that have slowly gotten away from you, one missed weekend at a time. Ideal before inspections, open homes, moving house or whenever your garden needs a fresh start.

Pruning

The right pruning helps keep plants healthy, manageable and looking their best. We’ll remove unwanted growth, shape shrubs and cut back plants where needed without taking more than necessary. Perfect for ornamental shrubs, roses, established gardens and seasonal garden care.

Lawn Care & Fertilisation

Sometimes mowing alone isn’t enough to keep a lawn looking healthy. We can help with fertilising and general lawn care to encourage stronger, greener growth and improve tired areas over time. Perfect for established lawns, seasonal feeding and properties that need a little more than a regular mow.

Mulching

A fresh layer of mulch does more than make garden beds look finished. It helps retain moisture, suppress weeds and protect the soil while plants grow. Perfect for established gardens, newly planted beds, seasonal refreshes and anyone wanting to reduce ongoing weeding and watering.

Regular Garden Maintenance

Beautiful gardens aren't created in a day—they're maintained a little at a time. We'll help keep yours looking its best before the little jobs become big ones. Perfect for busy homeowners, retirees, Airbnb properties and anyone wanting year-round garden care.

Hedge Trimming

A well-shaped hedge can completely change how neat a garden feels. We’ll trim and tidy hedges to keep growth under control, improve shape and stop them crowding paths or other plants. Perfect for boundary hedges, privacy screening, formal gardens and regular seasonal maintenance.

Weeding &
Weed Control

One weed has a habit of becoming twenty surprisingly quickly. We’ll remove unwanted growth and help get garden beds back under control before weeds take over. Perfect for neglected beds, seasonal maintenance, pre-sale tidy-ups and gardens that need a little breathing room again.

Garden Maintenance Services

Leaf & Debris Removal

Leaves, fallen branches and garden debris can quickly make an otherwise tidy property feel neglected. We’ll clear paths, lawns and garden areas and remove the build-up where required. Perfect after autumn leaf fall, storms, seasonal changes or whenever the garden needs a proper tidy.

Deadheading & Flower Care

Regular deadheading and light flower care can keep garden beds looking tidy and encourage longer flowering through the season. Perfect for roses, perennials, cottage gardens and anyone wanting more colour without the constant upkeep.

Green Waste Removal

No tip runs. No trailer. No pile sitting in the corner for the next three weeks. We'll remove the clippings and green waste so there's nothing left for you to do. Perfect for clean-ups, pruning and seasonal maintenance.

Seasonal
Maintenance

Your garden doesn't need the same care all year round. From spring growth to autumn leaves, every season brings a different job. Perfect for homeowners wanting their garden cared for through every season.

Garden Maintenance Plans

Beautiful gardens don't happen by accident. They stay that way through regular care, attention to detail and taking care of the little jobs before they become bigger ones. Whether you simply need your lawn mowed or a more complete garden maintenance service, our maintenance packages are designed to help you spend less time maintaining your garden and more time enjoying it. So if you're in Launceston, Tasmania and are looking for help with garden maintenance, we're happy to lend a hand.

✅ Gonna' Do

🌱

Garden maintenance in Launceston, Tasmania including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, garden clean-ups, mulching and green waste removal. Reliable local garden care for homes, rentals, Airbnbs and lifestyle properties.

What does garden maintenance include?

A good garden maintenance service is about more than pulling weeds, trimming hedges or pruning plants.

It's about taking care of the details, so your property feels looked after from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave.

Every visit begins with a walk around your property to assess how the garden is growing and identify the jobs that will have the biggest impact. Depending on your maintenance package and the time of year, that might mean weeding garden beds, pruning shrubs, trimming hedges, deadheading flowers, refreshing mulch or tackling the small jobs that have quietly built up since our last visit.

As we work, we're always looking beyond the obvious. We'll keep an eye on the health of your plants, identify maintenance issues before they become bigger problems and let you know if we spot anything that needs attention. If your package includes minor property maintenance, we'll take care of those jobs while we're there too.

Before we leave, we'll remove any green waste included in your service, tidy the work areas and leave your property looking clean, cared for and ready to enjoy.

We don't believe a garden maintenance service ends when the last weed is pulled or the hedge is trimmed. It ends when you step outside and realise everything that needed doing has already been taken care of.

Because the best part isn't a freshly maintained garden—it's enjoying it, knowing there's nothing left waiting for you.

Every garden is different, so the cost of garden maintenance depends on the size of your property, the type of work required and how regularly you'd like us to visit.

A small, well-maintained garden that's looked after every fortnight will usually take less time than a larger property that's been left to grow for several months. The number of garden beds, hedges, trees, access to the property and whether green waste needs to be removed can also influence the overall cost.

Regular maintenance is often the most cost-effective option. Staying on top of weeds, pruning and seasonal care helps prevent small jobs from becoming larger, more time-consuming projects, keeping both your garden and your maintenance costs under control.

To make things simple, we offer three garden maintenance packages starting from $150 + GST per scheduled visit, with customised maintenance plans available for larger properties or gardens with more specific requirements.

The best way to receive an accurate quote is to get in touch. We'll discuss your property, your goals and how involved you'd like us to be, then recommend a maintenance plan that's tailored to your home and budget.

How often should a garden be maintained?

Annoyingly, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Gardens change throughout the year, and how often they need attention depends on the plants, the size of the property, the season and how tidy you like things kept. A fast-growing Tasmanian spring might mean more frequent pruning, weeding and general maintenance, while winter can be much quieter. Rather than sticking to a rigid schedule, we recommend adjusting your garden maintenance to suit the season and the way your garden grows.

Why Choose Mr. & Mrs. Muscles?

Garden maintenance is what we do. Giving you one less thing to think about is why we do it.

Home ownership comes with an endless list of jobs.

Some you'll get around to eventually. Some you'll start and never quite finish. And some are simply better left to people who do them every day.

That's where we come in.

Whether it's regular garden maintenance, finishing the projects life got in the way of or helping prevent small issues from becoming expensive ones, our job is simple: to help you stay one step ahead.

We'll show up when we say we will, take pride in every visit and care for your property as though it were our own.

Because we're not just maintaining gardens.

We're helping you spend less time worrying about your property—and more time enjoying it.

FAQ

How much does garden maintenance cost in Launceston?

The cost of garden maintenance depends on the size and condition of your garden, the work required and how long the job is likely to take. Regular maintenance is usually easier and more cost-effective than waiting until the garden becomes overgrown. At Mr. & Mrs. Muscles, we offer time-based garden maintenance packages so you can choose the amount of help your property needs.

What is included in garden maintenance?

Garden maintenance can include weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, garden-bed care, mulching, lawn mowing and edging, leaf and debris removal, seasonal tidy-ups and green waste removal. What we tackle during each visit depends on your garden, your priorities and the amount of time booked. These are also among the services most commonly included in Australian and Tasmanian garden-maintenance offerings.

How often should my garden be maintained?

There isn’t one schedule that suits every garden. During Tasmania’s faster growing months, many gardens benefit from maintenance every two to four weeks, while lower-maintenance gardens may only need monthly or seasonal visits. Established formal gardens, larger properties or gardens you want kept consistently tidy may need more frequent attention.

Is regular garden maintenance cheaper than one-off garden clean-ups?

Regular maintenance can often be more economical because weeds, hedges, lawns and garden beds are kept under control rather than requiring a larger catch-up job. One-off visits are still a great option when you simply need help getting the garden back to a manageable starting point. Regular scheduled maintenance is commonly priced more efficiently than occasional intensive clean-ups.

Can I book a one-off garden clean-up?

Absolutely. You don’t need to commit to ongoing garden maintenance. One-off garden clean-ups are ideal for overgrown gardens, moving house, preparing for inspections or sale, seasonal tidy-ups, or simply getting things back under control before maintaining the garden yourself.

What if my garden is badly overgrown?

That’s fine. Overgrown gardens generally take longer on the first visit because there is more pruning, weeding, cutting back and waste to deal with. We can start with a larger garden clean-up and then, if you’d like, move to a simpler ongoing maintenance schedule once everything is manageable again.

Do you remove green waste?

Yes. We can remove branches, hedge clippings, leaves, weeds and other garden waste produced during maintenance and clean-up work. Green waste removal and disposal charges may apply depending on the amount being removed.

Do you do weeding?

Yes. Weeding and weed control can be included as part of regular garden maintenance or booked for a larger garden clean-up. The time required depends on the size of the garden beds, the amount of weed growth and whether manual removal or another suitable approach is needed. Weeding is one of the most commonly requested garden-maintenance services nationally.

Do you prune shrubs and small trees?

Yes. We can prune shrubs, bushes, fruit trees and suitable small trees to remove unwanted growth, improve shape and keep plants manageable. Larger trees, high-risk tree work or work requiring specialist arborist equipment may need to be referred to an arborist.

Do you trim hedges?

Yes. Hedge trimming can be included in regular garden maintenance or booked as a standalone service. How often a hedge needs trimming depends on the species, time of year, desired shape and how quickly it grows.

Do you provide mulching and garden-bed maintenance?

Yes. We can weed, tidy and mulch established garden beds as part of broader garden maintenance. Mulch helps suppress weeds, retain soil moisture and give beds a cleaner, finished appearance.

Do you provide seasonal garden maintenance?

Yes. Gardens need different attention throughout the year. Seasonal maintenance might include autumn leaf removal, winter pruning, spring clean-ups, mulching, feeding plants or managing faster summer growth. Tasmania’s distinct seasons make seasonal garden care particularly useful.

Do you maintain rental properties and Airbnbs?

Yes. We provide garden maintenance for homeowners, landlords, investment properties, Airbnbs and short-stay accommodation throughout Launceston and surrounding areas. Regular maintenance can help keep the outdoor areas consistently presentable without needing the owner or manager to organise individual jobs each time.

Do you maintain larger gardens and lifestyle properties?

Yes. We work with suburban gardens as well as larger gardens and lifestyle properties. Larger properties may need longer visits, recurring maintenance or a combination of mowing, pruning, weeding, hedging and clean-up work depending on the site.

Can you combine lawn mowing with garden maintenance?

Absolutely. Lawn mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, hedge trimming and general garden care can often be completed during the same visit. Combining services can make it easier to keep the whole property looking consistently maintained rather than booking separate visits.

Do I need to prepare the garden before you arrive?

No major preparation is needed. If possible, clear toys, hoses, furniture or other items from the areas you’d like us to work in and let us know about pets, locked gates or anything else that may affect access.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Light rain doesn’t always stop garden maintenance, but heavy rain, strong winds, saturated ground or unsafe conditions may mean we need to adjust or reschedule the work. We’d rather move the booking than damage your garden, compact wet soil or work in unsafe conditions.

Do you bring your own gardening tools and equipment?

Yes. We bring the standard tools and equipment required for normal garden maintenance. Specialist equipment, machinery, materials or unusual requirements may be charged separately where needed.

Do I need to be home while you do garden maintenance on my property?

Not at all. As long as we have access to the areas that need mowing and any pets are safely secured, you don't need to be home. Many of our regular clients are at work while we visit, returning home to a freshly maintained garden without having to worry about a thing. You are also more than welcome to be home while we work, it is your home after all!

Will the same people come every visit?

Yes. We're a couple who love hard work just as much as we love each other, so the same people who quote your job are the same people who'll be mowing your lawn or pulling weeds. Henry AKA Mr. Muscles and Sam AKA Mrs. Muscles will be the ones answering your call, knocking on your door, building paths and adding plants to your garden. Waffles (our dog) will often supervise, with your permission of course, and for larger jobs we have a team of hired muscle who can help us!

Do you have a Working with Vulnerable People check and/or police checks?

Yes. We understand that inviting someone onto your property requires trust and trust is earned. Both Mr. & Mrs. Muscles hold current Working with Vulnerable People cards and have clear police history checks, these can easily be supplied upon request. We're committed to providing a professional, respectful and trustworthy service, giving you the confidence you need when we're working around your home, children or vulnerable people.

Are you insured?

Yes. Mr. & Mrs. Muscles is fully insured with public liability insurance up to $20 million dollars in cover, giving you peace of mind while we work on your property.

How do I get a quote?

You can call or text us on 0401 298 918, and we'll do our best to respond! Sometimes we might be mowing someone's lawn and might not hear the phone ring, so you can always email us at hello@mrandmrsmuscles.com.au or submit an online quote form through our website.
